During the past month of May in London, there was a blind tasting of rosé wines from all over the world. Organized by the British publication The Drink Business, its editor-in-chief, the Master of Wine Patrick Schmitt, awarded our Luzón Colección Rosado Colección a silver medal and 90 points for its freshness and liveliness. (page 57).

This rosé, from our Colección wine category, is the only rosé reference in our catalog. It is a pink salmon-colored wine, with expressive aromas reminiscent of red fruits (cherries, sour cherries) and flowers. On the palate it is a wine of great balance, with refreshing acidity, medium body and delicate texture, without edges. The finish is sweet and refreshing, with flavors that remain on the palate reminiscent of cherry caramels and jams.

The silver medal with which The Drinks Business has awarded our Luzón Coleccion Rosado, provides extra value to the wines of Bodegas Luzón within the international market in general and the United Kingdom in particular, being the second world destination for exports of the PDO Jumilla. The British publication awards this rosé wine with a score of 90 and the following tasting note:

“Salmon pink pretty nose with ripe red fruits, touch of strawberry jam palate same, lots of ripe red fruit, not provencal in style, even though the colour is. More ripe fleshy strawberry fruit richness, touch simple, but intense, and finishes bright, with touch of gentle grip and some moderate acidity. Good fruity style of rose by modern standards even if delicate colour”.

The British consumer appreciates the freshness of the rosé and white wines of the Jumilla region, with the Monastrell native grape variety that allows us to produce high-quality rosé references. We have seen this reflected in the silver medal for our Luzón Colección Rosado in the international competition “The Global Rosé Masters”.
