We renew the SICTED seal: at Bodegas Luzón, we reaffirm our commitment to Quality Tourism

At Bodegas Luzón, a benchmark winery for wine tourism in the Region of Murcia, we are proud to celebrate the renewal of the SICTED seal of Tourism Quality Commitment, a recognition that consolidates our continuous effort to offer an excellent tourism experience, carefully designed and aligned with the most demanding standards in the sector.

This new SICTED seal – awarded by the Secretary of State for Tourism in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) – is not only a distinction in the tourism sector, but also represents the fruit of a work philosophy based on constant improvement, respect for the visitor and love for our territory: Jumilla, land of wine, culture and wine-making tradition.

Jumilla, on the tourist quality map

The award ceremony, held last April, brought us together with five other companies and tourist entities from Jumilla that, like us, have opted for a way of doing tourism based on trust, professionalism and continuous improvement.

This SICTED seal of tourism quality is part of a state initiative that seeks to promote a competitive and sustainable tourism model. For the visitor, this seal is a guarantee; for us, it is a responsibility that we assume with pride and renewed commitment.

What is the SICTED diploma and why is it so important?

The SICTED diploma is part of the Integral System of Tourism Quality in Destination (SICTED), an ambitious project promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism that evaluates and certifies compliance with good practices in tourism services of all kinds.

But let’s go a little further. SICTED is the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality, the entity that coordinates this integral and sustainable management model, promoting excellence and homogeneity in tourist services throughout the country. In its essence, it represents a shared work model, based on training, technical advice, continuous evaluation and the active involvement of all the agents of the destination. Its positive impact on the tourist experience is widely recognised by experts in the sector.

In our case, this recognition has led us to review procedures, update materials, reinforce staff training and, above all, to listen more carefully to our visitors.

This is not the first time we have succeeded

Indeed, this is not an isolated milestone. In 2023 we obtained the SICTED seal, in a first determined bid to position Bodegas Luzón as a benchmark for quality tourism in the Murcia Altiplano. Since then, we have redoubled our efforts to maintain this line of work and adapt to the new challenges posed by the wine tourism sector.

We are committed to sustainable wine tourism, to the enhancement of wine heritage, to guided tours that become shared stories and to a service that places the visitor at the centre of the experience.

Quality wine tourism: a way of travelling and feeling

Renewing this SICTED diploma in 2025 means that we continue to meet, and in some aspects exceed, the standards set by the system. But beyond the indicators and audits, what really moves us is to share what we are: a winery with a history, a dynamic present and a future open to international wine tourism.

We are at a time when wine tourism has become an attraction for thousands of people who are looking for more than just a tasting: they are looking for authenticity, hospitality, knowledge and direct contact with the land.

And we respond to this demand with professionalism, but also with passion.

What does this recognition mean for visitors?

Those who choose to visit us, whether from within or outside our borders, can rest assured that they have chosen a destination that cares about offering a quality tourist experience. The SICTED seal guarantees that our services, facilities, attention and content are up to expectations, and that we continue to work to improve them every day.

This tourist recognition not only improves our positioning as a winery, but also contributes to making Jumilla visible as an emerging tourist destination, with a solid and attractive wine tourism offer, where wine culture is lived with intensity.

Institutional collaboration and networking

SICTED would not be possible without the involvement of local, regional and national institutions. The Regional Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Region of Murcia, together with the Jumilla Town Council, have been fundamental allies in this process.

The networking, the exchange of good practices with other companies and the continuous training offered by the programme are key elements to maintain the level of demand required by this SICTED diploma.

In this sense, the SICTED model is in line with other internationally recognised continuous improvement initiatives, such as ISO certifications.

A further step towards responsible tourism

For us, renewing the SICTED diploma is another step towards a model of responsible, ethical and sustainable tourism. In times when authenticity is valued as much as efficiency, we believe that taking care of every detail and generating trust is fundamental.

This year, moreover, we are doing so in a context in which wine tourism continues to grow as a preferred option for those seeking peaceful, meaningful and soulful trips. Visiting a winery is not just about tasting a wine: it is about understanding how it is produced, meeting the people who make it, walking among the vineyards, connecting with the land and the climate that make it possible.

And this can only be achieved when tourism is experienced from the inside, with closeness and commitment.

Thank you for your trust in Bodegas Luzón

We close this stage with the satisfaction of having achieved our goals, but also with the motivation to continue improving. Quality tourism is not a goal, but a path that we walk every day.

To all the people who have visited us, to those who will come again and to those who do not yet know us: thank you. See you in the winery, among wines, conversations and landscapes that speak of the best of Jumilla.

We will continue working to make your experience more and more complete. Because at Bodegas Luzón, excellence is not an objective: it is our way of doing things.
