What year, huh? We didn’t have time to plan or ask questions when what no one expected appeared. Something that almost paralyzed our lives, that forced us to change our way of living and overcome a crisis that will undoubtedly make a dent in sectors as close to us as the Hospitality Industry.

Still, we should feel lucky. Yes, we know it sounds strange, but in the farewell to this year 2020, we want to look back with optimism to 2020. A year in which we support in a special way, as we have always done, the much-punished restaurant sector, carrying out actions for our clients such as the free delivery of more than 3,000 bottles of two of our Colección wines to help them in those difficult days when the balconies were filled with thanks but the blinds of the bars were closed.

A year that we began presenting our new Altos de Luzón, a renewed wine, a return to our origins, of which we have always been proud. The return to a monovarietal wine. The exaltation of the Monastrell, our Monastrell, which defines both our winery and our land.

The recognition of our wines, both national and international. The silver medal achieved by our Luzón Colección Rosado at the Global Masters 2020, which confirmed it as the only rosé from Jumilla scored in its prestigious list or the award for the best rosé of the Jumilla PDO in the Quality Contest of the Wines of Jumilla.

The 90 points obtained for our Luzón Colección Monastrell in Wine Enthusiast magazine, a benchmark for quality wines, which was later included as one of the best quality-price wines by the same publication, occupying the 18th position of its Top- 100 and being the second Spanish wine on the list.

Unforgettable, of course, the recognition, always loved and desired, that the Jumilla Wine Quality Contest awarded us, with the gold medal and the mention of Honor to Luzón Colección Monastrell, which was once again proclaimed for the second consecutive year as the best young wine from the PDO The best Monastrell of Jumilla in its category.

A year also of missing certain things, like spending more time with you, but really together. This year we had to say goodbye to our legendary “Música Entre Vinos” night, or the Open Harvest days, which had to be canceled, and unfortunately, we had to remain closed to visitors for a long time. That makes us wait for this next 2021 with a crazy desire to welcome you back to our winery, both in our standard visit modalities and in our Premium visit modality, which we launched this summer while the pandemic gave us a break.

Yes, we are lucky. We have, from the first moment, on the commitment and effort of the entire team to overcome this situation. An unrivaled human team, which has fought against a storm from which Bodegas Luzón has undoubtedly emerged strengthened. A team to be proud of, one of those who are tough and mature.

A year in which we have had to adapt more than ever to adversity, with strength, determination, and perseverance, and with our eyes set on the future. A year in which although we have not been able to enjoy your visits to our winery, we have felt close to you, both through our social networks or by participating in our raffles and trusting, as you have always done, in the wines from our winery by acquiring them aa through our Online store as well as all the Online distributors that we are lucky enough to have.

And in 2021? There are less than two weeks to go, and although for many it is just a calendar change and the aftermath of the pandemic continues to affect us, it is for Bodegas Luzón a year that fills us with hope with its mere proximity. New challenges to meet, a year of continuing to grow, as always, with you.We will continue to welcome you, as always, with open arms. Thank you 2020, it has been a pleasure learning with you, but welcome, 2021.
