We all know that in recent years, as a result of the constant and accelerated socioeconomic development of the Chinese population, technological advances in agricultural production and changes in eating habits, there has been an excessive interest in organic foods from the Asian giant, which has resulted in an increase in the demand for them by Chinese consumers, mainly young adults.

This new situation has meant that all organic products marketed in China are subject to a higher degree of control and must be certified through a body accredited by the Chinese government, making all those ‘eco’ products that enter the territory of mainland China without this certification, can not be sold as organic, ‘eco’, ‘bio’ or organic products.

Therefore, those interested in selling their organic products in the Chinese market, have to obtain the certificate according to GB / T 19630-2019, which regulates the systems of production, processing, labeling and management of organic products, certification that last month we achieved in Bodegas Luzon for our grapes, processing and sale of our organic wines.

To date, only less than twenty Spanish companies, including only five wineries, had achieved certification under this rigorous standard by complying with strict requirements relating to the non-use of phytosanitary products and fertilizers or the care of farmland and the natural environment, among others.

This new certification for our organic product joins those we already had such as the certification of our organic wines by CAERM (Organic Agriculture Council of the Region of Murcia) since 2001 and the American organic certification NOP, since 2004, which added to our ISO 14001 certificate and the ‘Wineries for climate protection’ certification, demonstrate our high commitment to the sustainability of our products and processes.
